A Dozen Years of Dominance For Spirit Lake-Okoboji Girls Tennis

The tradition continues in 2011 for the Spirit Lake-Okoboji girls tennis program, winning yet another Lakes Conference tennis championship, their twelfth consecutive. The title came courtesy of 18 match victories, ten of which were in doubles. Alli Gerking and Aubrey Kolegraff teamed up to go 5-0 and take the #1 doubles crown, as well as earn first-team all-conference honors. The #2 doubles title went to Jamie Kohlhaase and Rachel Westergard, who were also a perfect 5-0 on the day. They were given honorable mention all-conference honors. KJ Veldman played as the #1 singles and won four of her five matches to finish runner-up, however, was named first-team all-conference. And Hannah Coenen suffered her only setback in a tiebreaker, going 4-1 as well and taking second place at #2 singles. She was an honorable mention selection.
