Coming up this afternoon, at 5 o’clock, the Spirit Lake High
School Girls’ Basketball Team will face Estherville-Lincoln Central in Round
One of the Class 3A Girls Basketball Tournament.
This is the third straight year, in the State Tournament,
for the Midgets, who are 21-3, this year, and are led by quite the senior
class. Here’s ELC Coach Tony Klein.
Klein and Reinking talk about strong ELC team
That’s Spirit Lake Girls coach Rick Reinking, whose team is
16-8, heading into this afternoon’s game.
He says the team has played a tough schedule, this year, and has had to
overcome some key injuries.

scorer, K.J. Veldman missed several games this season, with a shoulder injury,
including a road loss to ELC on December 21st. The Midgets won that one, 70-36. She was back in the lineup on January 29th,
when Spirit Lake fell at home to ELC, 51-36. Klein says K.J. will be a huge factor
tonight.
