The 37th Annual University of Okoboji Youth Soccer Tournament will be held this Saturday and Sunday, June 7th & 8th at the Okoboji High School fields in Milford Iowa. The tournament will be played on the six fields and will be hosting a record high of 52 youth soccer teams. Teams from the Omaha area include: St. Roberts, St. James Elizabeth Ann, St. Wenceslaus, St. Bernard’s, Cathedral, St. Pius/St. Leo, St. Vincent De Paul, St. Cecilia, St. Margaret Mary, Holy Cross, and Our Lady of the Lourdes. Tournament Directors are: Corey & Marianne Rosenbaum, Greg & Katie Witt, Kym & Tom Bybee, Kim & Ken Murcek. . Tournament founders are Jim & Mary Morrison, and Bob & Mary Jo Ellis. Tournament Coordinator is Matt Richter.
Opening Ceremonies begin at 8:00 AM Saturday June 7th with the colorful Olympic Parade of Players in front of the grandstand. Close to 1,000 boys & girls will be participating. Following the parade Milford Boy Scout Troop 170 will be serving pancakes in Florence Park. Play is scheduled for all day Saturday and Sunday with no admission charge for either day. Everyone is invited to watch one of the fastest growing sports in America.
