2011 Baseball Camp Planned at Iowa Lakes

The annual Winter Training Baseball Camps at Iowa Lakes Community College will be held in January and February of 2011.

The camp, coached by Jason Nell, head coach of the Laker baseball team, is a specialized program that provides young people the opportunity to be evaluated by top coaches, improve their skill level and prepare them for the upcoming season. During sessions specifically designed for their age group, Coach Nell will demonstrate and teach a variety of skills and fundamentals necessary for players to become successful. Each camper receives personalized attention to facilitate his/her skill development.

“Sometimes, grandparents have difficulty identifying a good birthday present. Perhaps this would be a good one to give a grandchild who is interested in baseball,” said Coach Nell.

There will be 4 different sessions.
Saturday, January 22nd, ages 5-12 – defense session
Saturday, January 29th, ages 5-12 – offense session (hitting)
Saturday, February 5th, ages 13-18 – defense session
Saturday, February 12th, ages 13-18 – offense session (hitting)
All sessions will start at 9 a.m. and will end at Noon.

Sessions will be held in the Christensen Activity Center at the Estherville Campus of Iowa Lakes. Cost to attend one of the sessions is $20 per person and includes a T-shirt.

Assisting during the sessions will be players from the Iowa Lakes Community College baseball team and other area high school and college coaches.
