2010 State Wrestling Rundown: Championship Saturday

The 2010 Iowa State Wrestling Tournament closed out on Saturday night and the area had a slew of top eight wrestlers.

In Class 1A, Graettinger-Terril put two in the top four as Nate Howard (189) finished fourth place and Michael Jensen (145) picked up the best finish of the area wrestlers, taking second, falling in the finals to Justin Hoffman of East Buchanon Winthrop by major decision, 17-9.

A pair of Okoboji seniors fought for high marks. Doug Schwaller (215) took fourth while brother Dustin (285) racked up seventh.

Matt Finch (140) of Hartley-Melvin Sanborn took home third place, Nick Drenth (112) won fifth, while Heath Nagel (103) and Josh Treybal (215) each took eighth.

In Class 2A, Spirit Lake Park was represented by Doug Miner (103) who took seventh. Emmetsburg put three in the top seven with Skyler Rice (135) in third, Joe Naig (160) in seventh, and Jacob Morris (189) in sixth.
