ILCC Honors Music Hall Of Fame Inductees

(Estherville)– The Iowa Lakes Community College Music Department proudly honored the 2024 and 2025 Music Hall of Fame inductees during a heartfelt celebration on Friday, April 4, at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center on the Estherville Campus.

The evening event featured musical performances, deserts, and a moving tribute to the inductees whose contributions have made a lasting impact on the Iowa Lakes Music Department.

“The Iowa Lakes Music Hall of Fame honors the alumni and friends who have gone above and beyond to promote and assist the Iowa Lakes Music Department,” said Carol Ayres Stueven, Professor of Instrumental Music. “All these nominees are superheroes to us in the Music Department, and we are grateful for their time, talent, and commitment to Iowa Lakes.”

2024 Inductees

Trish Morfitt – Commitment (Coda)

The Commitment (Coda) Award is for a nominee who has committed endless time and energy to the Iowa Lakes Music Department.

Trish Morfitt was recognized for her enduring dedication to promoting the music department through professional marketing and design. Her creative contributions include posters, logos, set design, and branding—many of which are still in use today.

Reggie Schive Jazz Camp Staff – Impact (Virtuoso)

Longtime contributors to the Reggie Schive Jazz Camp were honored for their unwavering support of music education and mentorship. This year’s inductees include: Donna Musel, Dan Cassady, C.J. Kocher, Michael Gurciullo, Laura Garred, Doug Stueven, Emily Mikos, Michael Wilbur, Tom Musel, Cindy Mouw, Lincoln Larsen, and Logan Musel. Their annual dedication has helped inspire and educate generations of young jazz musicians.

2025 Inductees

Bobbie Sue Marth – Innovation (Sforzando)

The Innovation (Sforzando) Award is for a nominee who has broken new ground with originality or creativity, has established new standards, and has broken through boundaries to propel the Iowa Lakes Music Department.

Bobbie Sue Marth was honored for her transformative work in costume design and organization, elevating the production value of Iowa Lakes performances through her creativity, craftsmanship, and countless volunteer hours.

Randy Gene Yackle – Influence (Cadenza)

Recognized for his influential work as a music educator and performer, Randy Yackle has provided private lessons, played keyboard for musicals, and recently assisted the Iowa Lakes Jazz Band—deeply enriching the department and community.

The Iowa Lakes Music Department will also formally recognize the Reggie Schive Jazz Camp Staff during the upcoming Jazz Camp this summer, as some inductees were unable to attend the April ceremony.
