Okoboji Tops Spirit Lake In Softball Opener

The Okoboji High School Softball team got eight strike outs from sophomore pitcher Savannah Heithus, and the Pioneers beat Spirit Lake, 2-1 last night, in the season opener for both teams.  Here’s Okoboji Coach Dennis Baschke.

Anna Seeger went 3-for-3 for Okoboji.  Anna Vos scored both runs for the Pioneers, who are on the road against Algona on Thursday.  
 

Paige Krause hit a third-inning home run for Spirit Lake, who hosts Newell Fonda tonight.

The Okoboji Baseball team beat Laurens-Marathon, 6-1, last night. 

Holt Hunziker got the win, going six innings, allowing no hits and one run. Houston Hawkins worked the 7th to get the save.
