volleyball player Krista DeGeest, from Spencer, has earned American Volleyball
Coaches Association 2012 All-Central Region honorable mention status for the
second year in a row
DeGeest has had a stand out
career for the Panthers. This season she reached 1,000 kills and 500 total
blocks in her career. She finished her Panther career second on the career
hitting percentage list at UNI with a .319 percentage. She passed former
Panther Michelle Burrow to take first place on the career sets played list at
UNI with 488 sets played.
DeGeest also finished fifth on
the career totals blocks list with 545 blocks. She was named to first-team
All-Missouri Valley Conference this season for the third straight year. DeGeest
finished MVC play in fourth place among Valley teams in hitting percentage with
a .333 percentage.
