The Spirit Lake Park Wrestling team picked up wins against
both Cherokee and LeMars, last night, in a double-dual in Cherokee..

They beat LeMars, 54-30, and got pins from Doug Miner, Ethan
Bergendahl, Zach Skopec, Kenten Murray, David Trucksess, Justin Jones, Jacob
Jenness, Brady Mart,  and Alex Hermes.

In their 48-36 win over Cherokee, Miner, Skopec, Trucksess, Mart,
and Javier Tapia all recorded pins.

Spirit Lake Park
hits the road, today, for Rochester, Minnesota, where they’ll compete in a two-day tournament
at Rochester Community College.

As for the Okoboji wrestlers, Pioneers coach Nate Dau says the Pioneers “wrestled well in a lot of positions last night against Central Lyon and West
Lyon but still made some costly mistakes.  Jon Mitchell, Noah Bouse, Taylor
Cody, Jordan Hanna, Justin Richardson went 2 – 0 last night and wrestled well.
We still don’t have a full line up and need to move some kids around to be more
competitive when we get back from break.  Central Lyon capitalized on a lot of
our mistakes.  Both duals were very competitive and both teams are very well
coached.  It’s good to see West Lyon’s numbers improving and they have some
young talent in their line up.   We have the Britt Invitational this weekend and
will see some good teams.  We have to show up and wrestle aggressive for 6
minutes each match and we’ll be fine.”

The Sibley-Ocheydan wrestlers beat Estherville-Lincoln
Central, last night, 42-37.  Austin
Egeland registered a pin for ELC, and Billy Snyder won by major decision.  Sibley-Ocheydan got pins from Chris DeNoble
and Tyler Reck.
