Spirit Lake Park:
120 – Doug Miner recorded a pin in 55 seconds against Dillion Cox of Atlantic and in the qtrs he beat Charlie Jones 7-3. In the semifinals Friday night he beat Brady Jennings of Osage 7-4. He in the championship he beat Shadow Leshen of Albia 1-0 to capture his 3rd state title. Doug finishes the season at 48-4 and the Class 2A State Champion at 120 pounds
138 – Zach Skopec recorded a 1st pd pin in a time of 1:33 over Tyler Nance of Chariton in the 1st round. Zach defeated Eric Clarke of Davenport Assumption in the qtrs 11-3 but lost in the semifinals Friday night against Adam Staudt by pinfall in a time of 5:39. In the consolation semifinals, he beat Steven Garcia of SB-L 1-0 and in the 3rd place match he beat Eric Clarke of Davenport Assumption to finish 3rd. Zach finishes the season with a record of 53-4 and 3rd place at state
145 – Kenten Murray lost by pinfall in the 1st round in a time of 2:44 to Zach Muller of West Delaware. In the consolations, he lost to Patrick Rooney of Bondurant Farrar by pin in a time of 1:48. His state tournament is over. The junior finishes the season at 33-10
Spencer:
106 – Dylan Huntoon lost by pin in a time of 5:33 to Carter Barkema. In the consolations, he lost 13-6 to Max Wehage of Vinton Shellsburg and ends his state tournament. He finishes with a record of 34-10
120 – Bailey Hawn lost to Blake Luna 4-3 in the 1st round. In the consolations, he won by pinfall in 1:21 over Dylan Beaver of Bettendorf. In the 2nd round consolations he lost to Caleb Coleman of Bondurant Farrar 6-4 and finishes his state tournament. The senior finishes the season at 37-17
126 – John Christopherson got an 8-2 decision victory over Austin Moen of Saydel in the 1st round. In the qtrs he lost to Max Thomsen by a score of 11-1. In the second round consolations, he defeated Walker Wegener 15-8. In the 3rd round consolations, he beat Cole Race of Clarksville 6-5. He won his consolations semifinal 6-1 which put him in the 3rd place match against Tanner Cowan which he beat 6-5 for third. John finishes the season at 55-3 and a third place finish at state
132 – Levi Gilmore is into the qtrs after pinning Tad Chapin in the first round in 3:17. In the quarterfinals, Levi lost 16-1 to Colton McCrystal of SB-L which put him into the 2nd round cosolations against Kellan O’Shea of Decorah which he beat 4-2. Levi recorded a 6-5 decision over Aaron Schultz Friday night in the 3rd round consolations and lost to Oscar Ramirez from Estherville in the consolation semifinals by pinfall in a time of 5:19. In the 5th place match, he lost to Andres Gonzalez by pin in a time of 1:56. Levi finishes with a record of 49-12 and a 6th place finish at state
160 – Tanner Schaefer lost his 1st round match 9-6 to Danny Bush of Davenport Assumption. In the 1st round consolations, he pinned Jake Rhoads of Gilbert in a time of 3:26 to stay alive in the tournament. Tanner recorded a 5-4 decision in the 2nd round consolations and in the 3rd he beat Grant Lehmann 12-4. In the consolation semifinals, he lost to Sawyer Anderson of New Hampton 14-9 which put him into the 5th place match against Jacob Van Ginkel of Hull Western Christian which he beat 12-4 to finish 5th. Tanner finishes the season with a record of 48-5 and a 5th place finish at state
170 – Blaine Johnson lost his 1st round match by pinfall in a time of 1:58 to Matthew Williamson of Atlantic. In the consolations, he lost by pin in a time of 3:04 to Erik Lux of Starmont. Blaine’s tournament is complete. The senior finished with a record of 41-12
Estherville Lincoln Central:
132 – Oscar Ramirez got an 8-0 decision over Aaron Schultz in the 1st round and will be in the qtrs against Jordan Challen. He defeated Jordan in the quarterfinals 20-6 but in the semifinals, he lost to Cole Erickson from Mediapolis 9-0 and be Levi Gilmore of Spencer by pin in the consolation semifinals to advance to a 3rd place match against Kyle Springer from Davenport Assumption which he lost 19-4. Oscar finishes with a record of 41-5 and finishes 4th at state
145 – Blake Gjerde lost by pinfall to Chase Straw of Independence in the 1st round in a time of 3:56. In the 1st round consolations, he won 10-3 and in the 2nd round consolations he lost to Jeremy Scheuermann by pinfall in a time of 3:27 to end his state tournament. The junior finishes with a record of 32-13
