The Iowa Lakes Community College Mens basketball team was
defeated by Owens
Community College,
Tuesday, in the opening round of the NJCAA Division II Basketball Tournament. The final score was 74-72.
The Lakers led by as many as 14, in the second half, but
Owens stormed back and took a two-point lead with ten seconds remaining.
Iowa
Lakes had as many as four
shot attempts, in the final seconds, to tie the game, and were unable to
connect on any of them.
Deondre Parks led ILCC with 22 points. Josh Schaben had 17 points and eight
rebounds.
ILCC will face Mott
Community College,
Wednesday, in a consolation match-up.
The Lakers can still finish as high as seventh if they win the remainder
of their games.
