The doubles teams of Westergaard and Rohlk, Delaney and

O’Hara says he’s proud of the No. 3 Doubles Team

Alex Kaldahl, Brady Plueger, and Jack O’Hara all got singles wins for the
Tigers.

Michael O’Brien was a singles winner for the Indians.  Gabhart and Jordon Plueger combined to win at
number one doubles, for Spencer.  Spirit
Lake-Okoboji got wins from the doubles teams of Stoll and Schmitz, and also O’Brien
and Trevor Smith.

Comments from Spirit Lake-Okoboji Coach Dan Taylor:

“Just like
the first time we played Spencer, we had very close matches across the board,
and they were able to edge out just a couple more than us.  At #1 singles Gabhart was able to turn the
tide against Brandon, who had beaten him two meetings in a row, and at #2-5
Spencer once again won 4 close singles matches, including edging out Tyler
Schmitz at #5 singles in a 3rd set tiebreak.  Michael O’Brien, who played his first varsity
singles match today, did extremely well winning decisively at #6.  We played very strong doubles, and took 2 of
the 3, which is similar to the first time we played, as we lost at #1 doubles,
and were ahead at #2 & #3 before play was suspended due to darkness.  Going into this meet we suspected if we could
just break even with the singles we had an excellent chance of winning the meet
– it just didn’t happen.  I thought we
played well, and again the quality of tennis in all the matches was very high.  Spencer once again just got the better of us
in the big moments and key points in most of the matches on this particular
day.”
