Pocahontas controlled the 1st quarter leading 14 – 5. They would maintain that lead and hold on for the 45 – 37 victory over Emmetsburg. The Indians shot 40% for the game and were led by Elle Ruffridge with 19 points including 3 three pointers. Also in double figures was Hannah Stafford with 13. Emmetsburg was led by Ashton Connelly scoring 28 of the teams 37 points. Pocahontas is 2 – 0 and will host South Central Calhoun on Friday. Emmetsburg is 0 – 1 and will be at Lemars on Tuesday

Pocahontas jumped out early and led 10 – 5 after the 1st quarter. Emmetsburg would respond in the 2nd outscoring Pocahontas 15 – 11 to make it a 1 point deficit at the half. The big difference was the 3rd quarter when the E’hawks outscored the Indians 15 – 7 and never looked back after that. Emmetsburg nearly had 4 players in double figures. Michael Pugh and Mike Myers each had 11, Erik Drost with 10 and Shawn Erickson chipped in 9. Pocahontas was led by Austin Roetman with 12 points and Aaron Aljets with 10. Pocahontas is 0 – 1 and will host South Central Calhoun on Friday. Emmetsburg is 1 – 0 and will be at Lemars Tuesday
