On January 2nd, the first annual Spirit Lake Dance Marathon will be he held in the high school commons from 6 – 11 PM. This is neither a dance nor a marathon; it’s a celebration of life. Dance marathon is a student-run philanthropic event held at major colleges and universities. All proceeds of this event will be donated to University of Iowa Children’s Hospital through Iowa State University Dance Marathon.
At the celebration on the 2nd, there will be games, pizza, raffles, community service projects, dancing and more. There will only be a $10 minimum donation in order to attend the event, but additional donations are encouraged. All individuals raising $50 or more for the event will be entered in a raffle for a variety of prizes.
