South O’Brien Softball Edges Harris Lake Park

South O’Brien won a close 2-1 War Eagle Conference softball
game over Harris-Lake Park on Tuesday night.  The pitcher’s duel saw just four
hits for each team.  SOS scored their first run when Brett Struve walked in the
third inning and later scored on a wild pitch.  Struve scored the Wolverines
other run in the sixth inning as well.  Taylor Paulsen was the winning pitcher,
giving up one run on four hits.  She walked three while striking out four. SOS
has won eight in a row to sit at 9-2.  They are at Unity Christian for a double
header Wednesday.

HLP scored their lone run in the fourth inning.  At the plate,
Grace Winters was 1-for-3 with a run scored.  The Wolves stranded six base
runners including three in the fourth inning.  Macy Gunderson took the loss on
the mound.  She gave up two runs on four hits, striking out two and walking one.  HLP is 4-8 and hosts Akron-Westfield for a double header on Wednesday.
