Akron Westfield Baseball Comes From Behind To Defeat HLP

Harris-Lake Park saw a one run lead slip away in the seventh and fell to
Akron-Westfield 6-4 at home on Wednesday night.  The Wolves jumped out to a 3-0
lead in the first thanks to three hits.  In the third, the Westerners tied it
up off a pair of hits, a walk, and a pair of H-LP errors.  The Wolves regained
the lead 4-3 in the fourth, but gave up three runs on one hit and two errors in
the top of the seventh.
 
Jacob Neubrand was the winning pitcher.  He pitched the final 3 1/3 innings,
giving up just two hits while striking out five and walking two.  He relieved
Carl Eskra who pitched the first 3 2/3, giving up four runs (all earned) on four
hits.  He struck out seven and walked four.  Austin Allard was officially 1-for-1
at the plate with two walks and two runs scored.  Akron-Westfield improves to
7-9.
 
Jordan Kyle took the loss on the mound for the Wolves.  He pitched all seven
innings, giving up six unearned runs on five hits.  He walked eight and struck
out five.  At the plate, Tanner Green went 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored.  Brady Van Iperen was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.  He also stole five
bases. H-LP is 4-7.  They host Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn on Friday night.
