Emmetsburg Baseball Defeats Sioux Central

 
Emmetsburg would hold have Sioux Central Tuesday
night beating the rebels 4 – 3 in non conference baseball.  The E’hawks would
score 1 run in the 1st, 2 in the 3rd and 1 in the 5 inning to take the victory. 
After Sioux Central scored all of their 3 runs in the top of the 5th inning,
Emmetsburg responded in the bottom of the inning with the 1 run to put them
ahead for good.  Emmetsbug had 4 runs on 5 hits, while Sioux Central had 3 runs
on 8 hits.  The rebels were plaqued by 6 errors that led to 3 unearned
runs.
 
The E’hawks were led by Greg Wesley as he went 3 –
4 with an RBI.  Sioux Central was led by Tim Saunders as he went 1 – 2 with 2
RBI’s and Evan Balder was 2 – 4 with an RBI.  The winning pitcher was Luke
Jackson going 7 innings giving up 3 runs on 8 hits while striking out 6 and
walking 2.  The losing pitcher was Evan Balder going 6 innings, giving up 4 runs
(1 earned) on 5 hits while striking out 10 and walking 1.
 
Emmetsburg has won 4 in a row and are now 11 – 8
and will be at Western Christian Wednesday.  Sioux Central falls to 10 – 6 and
will take on East Sac Wednesday.
