Okoboji Co-Head Coach Erin Frerichs:

Okoboji Girls are meet Champions, scoring 36 points.  Tonight was a very
big confidence boost for our girls as we head into the Conference Meet and the
State Qualifying Meet in the next two weeks.  Of the 9 girls that ran (both JV
and Varsity), 4 set new all time personal records and 4 ran season best times.
We ran a 2-3-4 finish, with Olivia Albright leading the Pioneers with a 2nd
place finish.  Mallory Gibson and Mari Stein rounded out the top 5.  It was a
total team effort tonight to beat Sioux Center as all the varsity runners
medaled.  Anna Seeger was 14th, Cory Hoffman placed 19th, Ali Goehring came in
20th, and Grace Goehring medaled at 24th place.  We are excited to see the girls
peaking at exactly the right time of the season.  Abi Meyer and Peace Preston
also placed 2nd and 4th in the JV race.
The Okoboji boys finished in 4th place tonight, led by the 4-5 finish of
Blake Lineweaver and Ryan Chindlund.  We are also very excited to see the boys
running the fastest times of the season and careers.  Three runners set career
personal bests tonight and 5 guys ran season records.  Just like the girls, this
was a confidence builder for our guys tonight.  Connery Sweeney ran a great race
and Isaac Fritsch, Isaac Golke, and Joseph Schmidt continue to improve each and
every time we race.  Adam Dublinske cramped up tonight, but still ran within 30
seconds of his career fastest time. Thor Heimdal and Austin Duncan set season
bests in the JV race and Josh Kujanson also improves from race to race.

With two races in 48 hours, the kids are looking foward to some recovery
time and enjoying the Homecoming activities on Friday.  We are excited to see
all the hard work our runners have put in pay off in the next two weeks.
