(Spirit Lake)– The defendant in a case out of Dickinson county involving the sexual abuse of a child has been sentenced. Mykuya Kleveland was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual abuse in the 3rd degree…a class “C” felony.
Kleveland was originally charged with sexual abuse in the 2nd degree, but the charge was amended as part of a plea deal. Another charge of lascivious acts was dismissed as part of the plea bargain.
Kleveland will be given credit for time already served. He was also ordered to undergo a sex offender evaluation and will be required to register as a sex offender. Kleveland will be on parole for the remainder of his life once he’s out of prison, and will be required to have electronic tracking and monitoring.
