Allen Wadsworth, 85, of Spencer, formerly of Alturas, CA, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at his home in Spencer.
Per his wishes, there will be no services and burial will be held at a later date in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo, MN. Arrangements are under the direction of Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com
Allen Derwood Wadsworth was born on May 5, 1939, in Montevideo, MN, to Carrol L. and Alice O. Wadsworth. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1958. Allen served his country in the US Navy. After his honorable discharge, he moved to Los Angeles, CA where he worked as a Scenic Artist and Set Painter for Warner Brothers Studios in Hollywood, CA. He was united in marriage to Diane Kurtzbein Bofferding on September 9, 1988, in Alturas, CA.
In his free time, he enjoyed painting and doing artwork. He took pride in building a solar passive home in the mountains in Alturas, CA.
He is survived by his wife Diane Wadsworth of Spencer, IA; children David (Sue) Bofferding of St. Paul, MN; Thomas (Karen) Bofferding of Marshall, MN; Dawn (Steve) Heaton of Spencer, IA; Barbara Bofferding of Graettinger, IA; Gail Valdez of Graettinger, IA; Bradley (Jodi) Bofferding of Cottonwood , MN; and Polly (Thomas) Wiley of Three Lakes, WI; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jennifer Spader.
