Spencer finished in first as a team in Class 1A Boys District Golf on Monday. The Tigers finished with 27 team points. Estherville-Lincoln Central finished in second with 14. Spirit Lake-Okoboji finished in a tie for third with Fort Dodge St. Edmond. Each team had eight points, but SL-O had a head-to-head win over St. Edmond to take the third place spot and advance. Each meet produces two singles qualifiers, two doubles qualifiers, and the top three teams by point totals become team qualifiers. The second- and third-place teams, ELC and SL-O will meet in a Preliminary Substate dual scheduled for Friday, May 13. Spencer advances to the Substate Final round scheduled for Wednesday, May 18. Joseph Li of Fort Dodge St. Edmond was the regional champion in the singles tournament. Second place went to Josh Steffen of Storm Lake. Owen Kierschet of Spener finished in third. In the doubles tournament, Riley Dewitt and Evan Johnson of Spencer were the regional champions. Runner-ups were Spencer’s Charlie Steele and Sam Feldman. Jack Jensen and Arron Nissen of ELC finished in third.
