Along with the conference player of the year, three all-league selections, the sixth man of the year, and defensive team of the year, Northern Iowa has another accolade to add to the laundry list. Northern Iowa’s Ben Jacobson has been named the Missouri Valley Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Jacobson led the Panthers to a school-record 25 wins and the regular-season conference title. Jacobson received 35 of a possible 40 first-place votes in a poll conducted by league coaches, media and sports information directors. Jacobson is the first coach to win the award twice in a row since Creighton’s Dana Altman did it in 2001 and 2002.
