Registration has begun up for summer basketball camps with Spirit Lake High School girls basketball coach Rick Reinking. The camps run from June 7th through 10th at the high school and features two separate sessions. For the beginners, Coach Reinking has the “Little Dribblers” camp, which features an introduction to the many skills and rules of the game. The “Little Dribblers” camp is for boys and girls entering Kindergarten through third grades.
Older youth entering grades 4th through 8th grades can be a part of the second session, where the focus is on honing your skills.
The campers will perform extensive drill work on their skills, while also participating in team-formatted daily competition.
The camps are run by Coach Reinking and his staff, as well as current and former players. It costs $30 for the older kids and $35 for the “Little Dribblers”, which includes a camp t-shirt, awards and prizes, a youth basketball for the younger kids and, of course, 1-on-1 instruction. Brochures and registration forms can be picked up at the schools in Spirit Lake.
