The Harris-Lake Park boys are moving on to next week’s Districts after finishing second in their Class 1A Sectional in Buffalo Center. Bishop Garrigan won the meet with a 324 and HLP finished with a 363. Seventeen strokes back was Graettinger-Terril in fourth place, while Armstrong-Ringsted came in eighth and Ruthven-Ayrshire ninth. The Wolves were led by Jake Ihnen’s 88. Cody Dyhrkopp shot an 87 for G-T, missing the qualifying cut individually by seven shots. The District meet will be held in Spencer.
The Okoboji boys are also heading to Class 2A Districts after a second place finish. The Pioneers shot a 316 behind Unity Christian’s 309. Caden Thurgood finished fourth with a round of 77 at Emerald Hills Golf Course. The second round will be played in Fort Dodge on Friday.
Spencer will continue its pursuit of state golf title as well next week at Class 1A Districts. The Tigers 306 was tops at the Sectional they hosted. Jordan Oltman was the meet’s runner up at 74, while Jay Monahan was third with a 75. Spencer will travel to Storm Lake for Districts.
