Pitcher Julia Nealer struck out 13 batters and allowed just one hit, while Christianne Siaz was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with five runs batted in as the Iowa Lakes softball team won their opening round game 8-0 against Cecil College at the NJCAA National Championships. The Lakers were quick to the scoreboard with three runs in the first inning, and proceeded to score at least one run in every inning after until it was called in the fifth. ILCC advances to play seventh-seeded Parkland College in the second round.
