Opposite Results for ILCC Golfers

After waiting a day to finally tee it up in the National Junior College Women’s Golf Championships, Iowa Lakes freshman Macy Milburn experienced a shaky opening round. The Estherville native shot a 101 and currently sits 29 shots off the pace. Milburn will try to chip away at the deficit when in round two of the 54-hole tournament. She’s set to tee off at 7:18 central time this morning in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Meanwhile, two Iowa Lakes sophomores are in the thick of the title hunt at the NJCAA Men’s Division II Golf Championships in Arizona. Welcome, Minnesota native Jarvis Weber fired an opening round 1-under par 71 and currently sits tied for fifth on the leaderboard three shots back of the frontrunner. Teammate and Jackson, Minnesota native Scott Benson isn’t far off with his 2-over par 74 on Tuesday, tying him for 28th. Round two today will begin at noon for Weber, and Benson will tee it up around 12:30 central time.
