The game remained relatively close at 3-0 through five innings. Cara Vale struck out five and allowed ten hits as she took her first loss. Spirit Lake will travel to Harris-Lake Park this evening, a game you can hear on Q102 beginning at about 6:45 with the pregame.
Okoboji put a beating on Sioux Center in a 16-1 lopsided victory that saw the Pioneers score 14 runs in the second inning. Keely Bracelin was the winning pitcher.
Emmetsburg is ranked second in Class 2A and the EHawks are 1-0 to start their season following last night’s 6-2 win over West Hancock. Madison Woodruff earned the win behind a 15 strikeout performance, which kept the EHawks in the game until they put up a four-spot in the fourth to assume the lead for good.
