Pioneers Defeat Tigers For Memorial Day Win

Okoboji and Spencer hooked up for a Memorial Day tradition Monday night in girls softball, and the Pioneers squeaked out a 4-2 win. Spencer rallied in the top of the sixth to score a pair of runs and tying the game. But Makenzi Anderson led off the bottom half with a triple to right field and Maggie Rohlk brought her home with a single to left giving the advantage back to the Pioneers, who would add one more run in the frame on Bryanna Wittrock’s second hit of the game. Okoboji registered three runs and six hits with two outs against Spencer. Keely Bracelin threw seven innings of two run ball, allowing four hits and striking out six for the win, as she continues to live up to expectations. Amy McLoury surrendered four runs on twelve hits in the loss. Okoboji is now 4-1 on the season, while the Tigers remain winless at 0-4.
