The Spirit Lake girls golf team finished their 2010 season with a sixth place finish at the Class 3A state meet in Ankeny. The Indians two day total of 761 fell 24 shots back of champion Clear Lake. Maureen Owens and Ashley Nielsen led Spirit Lake with sub-200 two-day totals, tying for 11th and 15th, respectively. At the Class 2A meet in Adel, Emmetsburg came away with a third place finish, missing runner up honors by a single stroke. Jenny Hoch shot a 187 to tie for 13th individually, though her day was just beginning (see softball story).
