Former Pioneer Sets Hawkeye Track Record

When The University of Iowa track teams wrapped up day two of the 2010 Indoor Big Ten Championships Sunday, the Lakes area received some solid representation. Senior Dan Rolling, an Okoboji grad, finished 10th with 5,205 points. Rolling’s total was a new school record and he became the second athlete in Iowa history to break the 5,000 point mark. Rolling was the state high jump champion his senior year at Okoboji, was a two-time all district selection in football, and an all-conference honoree in basketball during his stint as a Pioneer.
