As reported in Wednesday’s Dickinson County News, John Walz has announced his resignation from the boys’ head coaching position at Spirit Lake high school, after holding the job for the past nine seasons. Walz said that he would like to take more time to enjoy his three children. Under Walz, the Indians went 70-129 and made a substate appearance two years ago. Walz won Lakes coach of the year for the 07-08 season.
