Estherville-Lincoln Central’s bid for a trip to the Class 2A girls state softball tournament ended with a regional final loss to Hinton in Cherokee Wednesday night. The Midgets dropped a 3-1 contest and finish their season at 20-14. Emmetsburg will have to wait another night to finish off their third consecutive berth in the tourney. Rain and lightning postponed their regional final in Wall Lake against IKM-Manning. One area baseball team returns to action in the Class 1A Districts tonight. Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire plays at Clay Central-Everly, with a first pitch time of 7pm.
