University of Okoboji Homecoming week saw more than 1,200 athletes participate in four events over the weekend. The athletes came from 32 different states, as well as three foreign countries. The winner of the marathon races were Gary Krugger of Edinboro, Pennsylvania with a time of 2:59:23 and Julie Musselman of Shorewood, Minnesota with a time of 3:41:42. Luke Demmel of Ames crossed the finish line first in the half-marathon after 1:17:16, while Charlotte McMullen of Sioux Falls was tops for the women at 1:36:32. Yankton, South Dakota’s Mark Wilcox won the triathlon with a finishing time of 1:29:12. Joy Carroll from Carroll finished in 1:46:22 to win the women’s division. And we had two local winners in the 10K run, as Brad Peter of Arnolds Park ran a time of 38:18 and Olivia Johnson from Milford finished in 41:11. For more results, go to AllSportCentral.com.
