Unity Christian flexed its cross country muscle at the Spirit Lake Invitational last night at Brooks National Golf Course. The Knights won the boys race with a team score of 61, finishing 13 points ahead of the hometown Indians. Spencer ended the day in fifth and Emmetsburg eighth place. Top-ranked runner Alec Baldwin won his first-ever race with a time of 16:02, while teammates Keith Byers and Will Norris were nipping at his heels for second and third place finishes respectively.
On the girls side, Unity Christian edged out the Indians by 19 points. Spencer finished in third place, with Estherville-LC/A-R in fourth and Emmetsburg eighth. Three Indians were in the top ten, led by Brianna Brunsvold’s third place time of 15:48, and KJ Veldman was right behind in fourth.
