Wolves Volleyball Keeps Rolling

The red hot Harris-Lake Park volleyball team continued its recent surge Thursday night with a three-game sweep of Cornbelt Conference rival Graettinger-Terril, 25-16, 25-20, 25-23. Senior Christine Larson led a balanced Wolves attack with seven kills, while also serving up four aces. Leah Duitsman had six kills and Lydia Brandt finished with five kills, nine assists, three blocks and eleven digs. Freshman Macy Gunderson notched a dozen assists and four aces. For the Knights, Nikki Brown tallied a game-high eleven kills to go along with seven digs and two aces. Senior Lindsay Flaharty controlled the G-T attack with thirteen set assists. HLP, which has now won nine of its last eleven matches, improves to 11-7 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Knights drop to 1-9 on the season and 0-2 in the Cornbelt.

Okoboji ran into trouble against Sioux Central, falling in three games, 25-12, 25-14, 25-21. Bryanna Wittrock had five kills and eight digs, while Aubry Kolegraff notched twelve assists and nine digs. The Pioneers are now 7-9 in match play and 1-1 in the Siouxland Conference

In the Lakes Conference, Estherville-Lincoln Central defeated Emmetsburg in four games, 16-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-22. North of the border, Fairmont fell to Blue Earth in four games, 25-14, 25-19, 19-25, 25-17, and Martin County West defeated Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, 25-13, 25-22, 25-14.
