The Okoboji boys cross country team accomplished a feat it had never done under head coach Brad Peter: win a meet. The Pioneers 78 points was twelve better than second-place Alta at the Sioux Central Invite. Joe Hilsabeck ran to a fourth-place finish individually, with a time of 18:30. Taylor Cody ended the day in eighth, while teammate Chris Albright was right behind in eleventh. On the girls side, Okoboji wound up in seventh place. Elizabeth Ellrich was the top female Pioneer runner with a time of 20:27, good for 27th overall.
