Okoboji posted a 2-1 record in pool play at the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn volleyball invitational on Saturday, which qualified the Pioneers for the semifinals. They would eventually fall in two games to tournament champion Rock Valley, 25-18, 25-23. In pool play, the Pioneers defeated South O’Brien, 15-21, 22-20, 15-11, and Newell-Fonda, 21-14, 21-15, but fell to Sioux City West, 22-20, 19-21, 21-15.
The host Hawks went 0-3 in pool play, losing to Trinity Christian, 21-15, 22-20, Rock Valley, 21-12, 21-17, and Laurens-Marathon, 21-14, 21-15.
