The Spirit Lake girls basketball team made it six wins in a row Saturday when they defeated Boyden-Hull, 45-37, as part of a non-conference doubleheader. KJ Veldman matched her per game average with 21 points, including a 7-for-10 effort at the free throw line. Leah Hilpipre also did some damage at the stripe, hitting 7-of-9 en route to nine points. The Indians are now 11-3 overall and host Storm Lake on Tuesday.
In the boys matchup, Boyden-Hull pulled away in the second half to earn a 44-32 victory over Spirit Lake. Mitch Peschon dropped in a dozen points and Sawyer Harms had eight to pace the Indians. Spirit Lake is now 6-9 on the season and have Storm Lake coming to town on Tuesday.
