Allie Sievert, Alyssa Johnson and Emily Kirchner combined for 50 points in a 61-51 overtime win against Pella Christian in the Class 2A state quarterfinals in Des Moines. Leading by six entering the fourth quarter, ELC surrendered the lead before Kirchner hit a game-tying layup with ten-seconds remaining in regulation. In OT, the Midgets outscored Pella Christian 10-0 to get the win. ELC shot 52-percent as a team, going 25-for-48. Sievert finished with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Johnson comnpleted a double-double of 16 points, eleven boards. Kirchner’s stat line had 14 points and nine rebounds. Next up for the Midgets is a semifinal showdown with Roland-Story on Thursday afternoon at 1:45pm. Roland-Story defeated West Fork 41-28 in their quarterfinal matchup. The other semi features top-ranked and undefeated OA-BCIG taking on Monticello.
