SL’s Kelley, Peschon Headed to Northwestern College After Graduation

Two more Spirit Lake Indians have decided to take their athletic talents to the next level at Northwestern College in Orange City. Seniors Dalton Kelley and Mitch Peschon have both signed letters of intent to play collegiately for Red Raiders.

Kelley will be a member of the track and field team with plans to throw discuss. He is a two-time state qualifier in that event, placing in the top-20 as both a sophomore and junior. Kelley has not left out an option to play football at Northwestern in the future, as well.

Peschon has agreed to play baseball in a Red Raiders’ uniform next school year. As a junior, he was a first-team All-Lakes Conference selection after leading the Indians in hitting and pitching. Peschon batted .537 with five home runs and 42 runs batted in. He also went 6-3 on the hill with a 3.33 ERA and 79 strikeouts. Peschon plans to pursue pitching in college.

Last month, fellow senior Alec Baldwin signed with Northwestern to run cross country and track.
