The Generals of Sibley-Ocheyedan were the overall winners on the girls side of the meet with 130 points. Spirit Lake Park finished second at 114, followed by Sioux Center in third, Emmetsburg fourth, Okoboji fifth, NSK/A-R sixth, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn seventh, and South O’Brien eighth. The Indians lone first place winner was Molly Hutchins in the shot put (34’3”), however, SLP did grab five second place finishes. The Pioneers notched two gold medals, breaking the tape first in the 4x100m (53.97) and 4x200m (1:50.06). Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Leah Seivert won the 800m (2:35.26), 1500m (5:19.04), and 3000m (10:35.04), with teammates Tena Jeppesen winning the 100m hurdles (16.72), Katie Hansen the 400m hurdles (1:10.83), and Nicole Rozeboom the long jump (15’11.5”). The Generals also were tops with their distance medley (4:32.71) and shuttle hurdle (1:10.86) relay teams. For Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, Sarah Ney stood atop the medal stand in the 100m (12.26) and 200m (25.78) dashes, and Brenna Sweeney won the 400m (1:03.48).
