A tiebreaker in the #3 doubles match determined the dual winner between Spirit Lake-Okoboji and Spencer Thursday night in boys tennis. The Indians and Tigers split the six singles matches, with Wes Bergquist, Tyler Bice and Trystan Wiedow winning for SL-O, and Michael Gabhart, Eric Maassen, and Jordan Plueger for Spencer. The first doubles match went the way of Brandon Stoll and Bergquist for the Indians, however, Morgan Kramer and Plueger responded with a win at #2. That left it up to Bice and Joe Oldson to win it for Spirit Lake-Okoboji, and they came through with a 10-7 decision in the tiebreaker. Of the nine matches played, five included tiebreakers. The win marks the first for SL-O over Spencer in a dual setting since 2006.
