Krause Powers Indians, While Pioneers Roll and Wolves Fall (Softball RoundUp)

Spirit Lake sophomore Paige Krause continued her remarkable season Thursday night in leading the Indians to a 10-2 win over Graettinger-Terril in non-conference softball. Krause went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a three-run homer and finished with four RBI. She also scattered five hits as the game’s winning pitcher. Emily Mercer pitched in offensively with three hits and three driven in, while Alli Gerking recorded two hits. Spirit Lake improves to 16-3 overall and hosts LeMars in a makeup game on Friday.

Okoboji shut out Manson NW Webster on the road Thursday, securing a 10-0 win in five innings. That gives the Pioneers a dozen wins on the season and seven losses.

Harris-Lake Park hung tough against Central Lyon/George-Little Rock in a non-conference battle, but eventual succumbed to a 7-5 setback. The Lady Wolves drop to 4-10 on the year and return to Cornbelt Conference action this evening against Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka. Elsewhere in softball, Alta-Aurelia defeated Ruthven-Ayrshire, 8-1.
