Spirit Lake ended its five game losing streak on the softball diamond Tuesday night with a 9-3 victory at Sheldon. Cara Vale returned to the circle to scatter two Orabs hits and strike out three batters. Alissa Christoffer went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs driven in and three scored. Alli Gerking scored twice on two hits and also drove in a run. Paige Krause also accounted for two hits, two runs and a RBI. The Indians are now 18-10 and return to Lakes Conference play Wednesday with a trip to LeMars.

Okoboji returned to its winning ways by making quick work of Sibley-Ocheyedan with a 12-1 win in five innings. The Pioneers also have eighteen wins, to go along with nine losses and a Siouxland Conference record of 6-5. They travel out-of-conference Wednesday to battle Manson Northwest Webster. The Generals will welcome in Harris-Lake Park for a non-conference contest on Wednesday. That game can be heard live on Q102.

Emmetsburg reached 21 wins on the season with a 6-3 decision over Laurens-Marathon on Tuesday. The E-Hawks trailed by a pair before scoring four runs in the sixth inning. Morgan Vlasman had two base hits and a RBI. Faith Schmidt drove in a couple of runs to help her own cause, as she earned the win in relief. Schmidt struck out seven in just over two innings of work. Emmetsburg, at 21-6, will host Western Christian this evening.

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn and Graettinger-Terril met in a non-conference softball matchup last night, and the Hawks came away with a 7-3 win. Onica Jacobs earned the win to improve her pitching record to a perfect 8-0. She received help from Clarissa Beving, who smashed a two-run homer in the seventh inning. HMS owns a 9-14 mark on the season and hosts Remsen Union on Wednesday. The Knights received two hit nights from Lindsey Flaharty, Brooke Hoffman, and Cassy Hampson, while Alyssa Hoffman took the loss. G-T drops to 9-19.
