More all-state softball teams have been announced, this time from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association, and once again it includes numerous athletes from the Great Lakes area. Spirit Lake has two representatives in Class 3A, with senior Alli Gerking and sophomore Paige Krause both receiving honorable mention accolades. In Class 2A, Emmetsburg junior Faith Schmidt was chosen as a first-team pitcher and Estherville-Lincoln Central sophomore Emily Kirchner made the second-team as an infielder. Honorable mention honors went to Okoboji senior Maggie Rohlk, Emmetsburg senior Morgan Vlasman, and Estherville-Lincoln Central junior Kendall Bosch. The Class 1A all-state first team features sophomores Allie Ingalls and Collete Haag, a pitcher and infielder, respectively, from North Sentral Kossuth/Armstrong-Ringsted. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn senior Onica Jacobs was selected to the third-team.
