Spirit Lake never trailed in their non-conference volleyball match with Sibley-Ocheyedan on Tuesday night. The Indians pulled out a three-game sweep of the Generals, 25-9, 25-10, 25-15. Kendra Stokke registered ten kills, Whitney Berkland had 22 set assists, Amanda Bueltel tallied ten digs, and Bailey Loveall finished with six kills, six service aces and two solo blocks. Sibley-Ocheyedan was paced by Kayla Ackerman with three kills. Bridget Doeden and Alyssa Hibbing each registered three blocks. The Generals fall to 2-9 overall. Spirit Lake improves their match record to a perfect 4-0 on the season and will host their annual invitational this Saturday.
Harris-Lake Park opened league play with an impressive win over Cornbelt Conference power North Sentral Kossuth/Armstrong-Ringsted as part of a triangular with Spencer. The Wolves downed the Eagles in five games, 25-17, 26-24, 14-25, 21-25, 15-5. HLP then fell to the Tigers 15-25, 25-18, 14-25, 15-25. On the night, Leah Duitsman hammered home 30 total kills, Noreen Morrow had 21 kills, and Macy Gunderson accounted for 52 set assists…

The third match saw NSK/AR defeat Spencer in four games, 25-10, 23-25, 25-17, 26-24. Harris-Lake Park is now 2-4 on the season, NSK/AR is 3-5, and Spencer is 6-2.
In other area volleyball action, Emmetsburg dropped a five-set contest to Pocahontas/Pomeroy-Palmer, 25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 17-25, 15-13, and Clay Central-Everly downed Storm Lake St. Mary’s in straight sets, 25-21, 25-18, 29-27.
North of the border, top-ranked Jackson County Central wasted no time with a win over St. James, 25-9, 25-8, 25-11. Fairmont took advantage of all five games in a victory over St. Peter, 25-20, 20-25, 25-10, 21-25, 15-4. And Southwest Star Concept notched a win over Worthington in five sets, 25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 25-16, 17-15.
