The Okoboji Pioneers dominated early in a Siouxland Conference volleyball match with West Lyon on Thursday, taking the first two sets 25-18, 25-20, however, the Wildcats stormed back to grab the final three games and the match by scores of 25-13, 25-17, and 15-4. Statistically the Pioneers were led by Mikkinzie Peschong, who finished with seven kills and four blocks. Faith Bartlett contributed six kills and three blocks. As for the Wildcats, Denyelle Viereck tallied 14 kills to lead all players. Megan Feuchtenberger served up nine aces, part of 21 total for West Lyon. They improve to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the league. The Pioneers are now 4-3 this season and begin conference play 0-1. They return to action this Saturday with the Spirit Lake Invitational.
