Spirit Lake cross country runners Keith Byers and Will Norris ran identical times of 17:54 at the Emmetsburg cross country meet Monday to finish first and second, respectively. Teammate Kyle Anderson also had a top ten finish, as his time of 19:03 put him in the tenth spot. As a team, the Indians racked up 47 points, placing second behind North Iowa. Emmetsburg was third with 82. Harris-Lake Park’s Kayne Feldick earned his first top ten finish, with a ninth place time of 19:03.
The girls race saw Spirit Lake take third with 75 points, behind Bishop Garrigan (37) and North Iowa (54). Emmetsburg was fourth with 85 points. Dondi Schmidt crossed the finish line fifth in 17:52 and Liz Skogerboe was tenth at 18:20. Spirit Lake will run at Storm Lake on Tuesday.
