Just five days before the Siouxland Conference cross country meet, the Okoboji Pioneers boys and girls teams flexed some late season muscle at the Central Lyon/George-Little Rock meet on Thursday. The boys came away with their second meet team title of the season, as their 57 team points was nine better than second place CL/GLR (66). Joe Hilsabeck set the pace with a fourth place time individually, finishing in 17:56. Ryan Chinlund wound up in the top ten at 18:34, with teammate Taylor Cody right behind in eleventh at 18:36. The rest of the team, including Zach Jones, Chris Albright, Keith Oskvig and Colby Kraninger all finished 26th or better.
As for the girls, Okoboji ended the night in second with 77 points, trailing only Sioux Center at 49 points. Sibley-Ocheyedan took third (89). Olivia Albright had the top time for the Pioneers at 16:41, good for fourth overall, while Clare Eckard came in ninth place at 17:08. The rest of the team, consisting of Jordan Duncan, Nicole Ballah, Elizabeth Ellrich, Cheyanne Kopera and Hannah Marsh were all in the top 30.
