Spirit Lake Park wrestling hosted the second annual Hentges Invitational on Friday night, an event that consisted of seven other schools from Iowa and Minnesota. The dual format tournament ended with the sixth-ranked Indians winning the title. With a bye in the first round, SLP took down MOC-Floyd Valley in the semifinal, 59-12. In the championship round, the Indians won handily over Humboldt by a 56-24 final. Humboldt got the finals by eliminating Okoboji in the semi’s, a dual that ended 56-15. The Pioneers got there with an opening round defeat of Sioux Central, 63-11, followed by a 75-6 dual win over West Lyon. The Indians will return to the mat on Saturday, January 14 at the Estherville Invite, while Okoboji travels to ELC on Tuesday for a double-dual with the Midgets and Algona.
